Storage Tank Inspection

Using inspection results from a combination of these techniques, we establish the corrosion rate and remaining life of the tank shell/ bottom/ roof plates. Our assessment covers minimum thickness calculations, tank stability and stiffening requirements and maximum filling heights for corroded tanks. We give recommendations for repairs and possible extension of the equipment life in the most cost effective methods.

As we evaluate the condition of your asset for its suitability for continued use, we strive to improve its technical integrity by identifying and eliminating risks. We assist our esteemed clients in preparation of proper equipment records and schedule for external /internal inspection of the tanks using the tank history, current condition and extrapolation of the trends.

Our API 653 certified inspectors have extensive experience in construction and repair of Storage tanks constructed to API 650 and equivalent standards. Coupled with our engineering background and prowess in use of standards/ codes for best engineering practices in the industry, we have remarkable technical knowhow in assessment of tanks to review construction and design of storage tanks and determine compliance to the construction standard.

Pressure Vessels Inspection

We provide qualified personnel who are certified in accordance with API 510 to carry out inspection of pressure vessels. Our inspection plan is developed from the analysis of several sources of data. Equipment shall be evaluated based on present or possible types of damage mechanisms. The methods and the extent of NDE shall be evaluated to assure they can adequately identify the damage mechanism and the severity of damage. Examinations of the vessel seeks to identify Type of damage, rate of damage progression and tolerance of the equipment to the type of damage.

We select and mark proper Corrosion Monitoring Locations at which subsequent inspection shall be done in order to ensure that thickness readings obtained over the years are comparable.

Our inspection report provides details of findings on the visual condition of the vessel, thicknesses of the components, available corrosion allowance, a calculation of Maximum Allowable Working Pressure, next inspection date and recommended setting of pressure relief devises. In case of any repairs recommended, we provide proper guidance to our clients.

Process Piping and Transfer Pipeline

API 570 covers the inspection, rating, repair and alteration procedures for piping systems that have been in-service as well as their associated pressure relieving devices.

For buried and insulated pipeline, we provide the most suitable solution without need for excavation of the entire pipeline or removal of insulation. Using Long-Range Guided Wave system, corrosion of pipelines in areas inaccessible for inspection by conventional NDT methods can be detected. Boilers, Furnaces and Heat Exchangers

Boilers and Furnaces are subject to regular statutory inspections and testing, with non-destructive testing (NDT) required every 5 years. This is necessary to ensure safe and reliable operations of your equipment. Our personnel have vast experience in boiler inspection, and we provide Third Party Quality Assurance and Quality Control Services during repairs, modification and maintenance. Our intervention includes visual inspection for internal corrosion and Corrosion Under Insulation, UT survey of the boiler shell and tubes, MPI inspection of critical welds of the boilers for identification of cracks and Ultrasonic Flaw Detection. We also perform Hydrostatic Testing of such equipment.

We also employ advanced NDT technique such as Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) technique to establish the remaining wall thickness of the boiler shell, without need for removal of insulation. See this link for a demonstration of PEC technique;

This provides for a fast, reliable and affordable way of assessment of our clients equipment while eliminating the need for insulation removal and reinstatement.

We carry out inspection of heat exchangers for corrosion and leakages, both for the tubes and the exchanger shell. Besides the use of the NDT techniques listed above, we also perform hydrostatic testing of the heat exchangers. Our personnel are proficient in supervision of exchanger re-tubing and inspection to standard.

Lifting Equipment Inspection

Safe and successful lifting operations depend, in large part, on the continued safety of the lifting equipment and accessories that are used.

Failures in this kind of equipment can result in significant or even fatal injuries. Statutory requirements for Health and safety in every region therefore places a number of specific obligations on those providing, controlling and using lifting equipment to properly manage these risks. In addition to the requirements for safe design and construction, all lifting equipment should also be periodically inspected and maintained as required in order to keep it safe for use.

We help you meet the Statutory requirements for inspection of lifting equipments with the help of the Authorized Government Inspector who provides you with a certificate of inspection and quality.

Pressure Relief Devices and Pressure Indicators

Pressure relief valves require periodic inspection, servicing and Calibration in order to ensure safe operation of your pressurized equipment. They are responsible for alleviating system upset through release of excess pressure from the system to maintain normal operating pressure conditions. We have technical staff experienced and qualified in servicing and calibration of these PRDs, to safeguarding all process equipment and piping. We also provide calibration services for Pressure gauges/ indicators.

Third Party Inspection Services ? QA/QC

We provide Quality Assurance/ Quality Control service to our clients to provide a third party inspection of construction/ fabrication, maintenance or repair of equipment on behalf of our client, either on client site or at the construction sub-contractor?s premises.

We ensure that our clients get what they paid for. This includes testing of welders involved in the work, review of material certificates, witnessing or performing NDT inspection on the equipment under construction, advising on best engineering practices for the task at hand among others.

Long Range/ Guided Wave Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT)

Guided Wave ultrasonic testing provides a convenient solution for inspection of inaccessible pipes such as buried sections, insulated pipes, pipes at elevated pipe racks, hence a reduction in cost due to the avoidance of excavation, scaffolding, removal/reinstatement of insulation. Only a small section of the pipe needs to be exposed in order to provide a surface for the equipment transducer.

LRUT can do inspection of up to 40m from one inspection point, thus increasing inspection speed. Therefore it can be applied on long lengths of above ground pipeline thus reducing the duration of the inspection while maximising coverage in comparison to manual ultrasonic testing.

Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)

PAUT provides the most convenient, safe and cost effective means of Automated Ultrasonic inspection of welds in lieu of Radiographic Testing, thus eliminating the inherent challenges brought about by Radiography. Pulsed Eddy Current Inspection

PEC inspection is a state of the art technique for inspection of insulated surfaces without removal of the insulating material/ rock-wool or concrete. It can be used for inspection of boilers and insulated process piping for Corrosion Under Insulation. This technique provides details of the remaining thickness of the equipment under insulation. It may also be used for inspection of equipment components such as legs which are covered with concrete fire proofing such as LPG spheres.
